Stagehand Expectations

ON-TIME; When the call steward gives you the CALL TIME: That is what time you are expected to be READY/HANDS ON. This is not the time to be walking in the door. Not the time to be using the restroom, or hanging up coat. Your CALL TIME: is you standing in anticipation/ready for instructions from your Department Head.

SIGN IN: before your call time/start time: Find your name on the sign in sheet and INITIAL in the appropriate column. This way, we know when all our crew has arrived. If you do NOT sign in, you will be marked as LATE. This could result in you being dropped from the IA call list.

DO NOT SIGN IN for anyone else. This would be an offense that could result in TERMINATION of EMPLOYMENT.

Know your JOB ASSIGNMENT: Look on the sign in sheet, next to your name.

Know who your DEPARTMENT HEAD is. Be available to that person. Look on the sign in sheet, or ask, if you don’t know.

Be Prepared to Work: wear/bring appropriate clothing, tools and your attention.

PAYROLL SCHEDULE; Keep track of what day/date you worked, and what pay date the pay should be distributed. NOTE: often times, a new hire pay may be delayed a pay period due to getting the new person added onto the employee roster/system.
